Auberge De La Foret
Auris, France · Independent · June 2025

Auberge de la Forêt is a small mountain hotel in the hamlet of Les Cours, above Auris-en-Oisans, at around 1,350 metres and roughly three kilometres from the local ski area, which connects with the Alpe d’Huez domain. Set in a former mountain farm, the property leans into wood, stone and the uncomplicated warmth of a working alpine inn, with views towards La Meije and the Écrins massif. Its nine rooms range from doubles and twins to family rooms, communicating layouts and suites, with several configurations suited to families or groups. The restaurant occupies the former sheepfold and serves house-style cooking in a vaulted dining room, while the terrace and fireplace provide quieter places to settle after a day outdoors. Breakfast, Wi-Fi, pet-friendly facilities, bicycle storage and accessibility services add practical comfort without diluting the village character.
