Soori Penang

Soori Penang is a heritage boutique hotel in George Town’s UNESCO-listed core, set within restored shophouses beside the Khoo Kongsi temple. The property is shaped as a personal project by architect Soo K. Chan, with a design language that leans into memory, craft, and quiet restraint rather than polished theatrics. Suites are spread across a compact historic compound, creating a stay that feels intimate and architectural at once. Dining draws on Penang’s food culture, and the hotel also frames the neighborhood as part of the experience, with curated access to the surrounding heritage district and a strong sense of place throughout.
