The Brecon Adelboden

Adelboden, Switzerland · July 2024

The Brecon Adelboden photo 1

Set above the village of Adelboden in the Bernese Oberland, The Brecon is a design-forward alpine lodge in a 1914 building once known as the Waldhaus (the upper house of Hotel Huldi). Interiors by Amsterdam studio Nicemakers lean into natural timber, stone, leather and wool, mixed with mid-century pieces; many rooms frame wide mountain views. The stay runs on an all-inclusive rhythm: à la carte breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner are served from an open kitchen that acts as the social hub, with seasonal local sourcing and a steady pour of cocktails, wines and fresh juices. Rooms come with a complimentary minibar and Aesop bath products. The team can arrange outings from quiet hikes and stargazing to snowshoeing and ice climbing, and the property can be booked as a private chalet for events or buyouts.
